4. Read-A-Thon Celebrations
This week students who won the Potato Character Contests received their books!  Happy Reading Dolphins!

Mrs. Saunders’ class raised the most funds for Wayside and was treated to a Pizza Party!  Students had a sunny, Potomac Pizza lunch outside in the courtyard.  Congrats kindergarteners!

5. It Takes a Village
Thank you to Helena Lopez for hosting Wayside’s final Spirit Night at Carmen’s!  The weather cooperated beautifully while students and staff enjoyed their icy treats!  A special thank you to Helena for years of PTA support and for generating strong partnerships with all of these establishments!  Good luck in middle school!

Interested in this PTA position next year?  It’s available!  Please email Jax at president@waysidepta.org to learn more.

6. Celebrate your 5th grader’s promotion to middle school with a yard sign!
Yard signs are available to purchase at this link: https://spirithero.com/collections/wayside

Orders must be placed by May 12th on Spirit Hero’s website.  Signs are $20 each, or $25 if you choose to personalize the sign with your student’s name.  All signs will be delivered to the school for pick-up (anticipated delivery before June 1st).
Congratulations to all of our wonderful 5th graders!

7. Spring Fling is on May 18th

8. PTA Financial Review Committee
We are looking for two additional volunteers for the PTA Financial Review Committee this summer to review the PTA financial records.  Each volunteer spends a few hours reviewing the PTA financial records and ensures the records are complete.  The records are then passed to the next committee member. This is a great way to be involved with the PTA, but on your own time, as we work around reviewers schedules.
If you are interested in volunteering, please contact Christina at treasurer@waysidepta.org.
9. MCCPTA Seeks Candidates to Serve as Winston Churchill Cluster Coordinators for the 2024-2025 School Year
A Winston Churchill Cluster Coordinator works with local PTAs in the cluster (Bells Mill ES, Beverly Farms ES, Potomac ES, Seven Locks ES, Wayside ES, Cabin John MS, Hoover MS, and Winston Churchill HS) regarding compliance, transition support, advocacy (specific advocacy to school, testimony for MCPS Capital Improvement Programs and MCPS Operating Budget), guidance, and more.  Interested?  Please contact Susan Lifsey at SusanLifsey@gmail.com.
