 1. Wayside Book Drive 2022

The Maryland Book Bank will be distributing the books to children who have no books of their own. The proceeds from the sale of adult books help support their children’s program. Since its inception, the Book Bank has collected and distributed almost a million books to under-resourced children, teachers, caregivers, and families in the Maryland community.

The Maryland Book Bank accepts ALL KINDS of books!

–board books
–picture books
–chapter books
–young adult
–adult fiction and non-fiction

They DO NOT accept CDs, DVDs, encyclopedia sets, magazines, textbooks older than 5 years old and books that are damaged or moldy.

 

 2. Join us for Wayside’s Spirit Night at the Potomac Pizza on Falls Road on January 20th from 4 pm to 8pm!

Visit the Potomac Pizza Potomac Village location on Thursday January 20th.  You can order online or in-person; just mention Wayside spirit night when you order in-person or select the Potomac option when ordering online, and a percentage of the proceeds will go to the Wayside PTA!  Carry out or dine-in only.

 4. Hoover Rising 6th Grade Parent Night

Parents of current 5th graders are invited to attend Hoover Middle School’s incoming 6th grade parent information night for the 2022-2023 school year on January 18, 2022 at 6:00pm. An optional Special Education Meeting will be held at 5:30pm.

 5. Seeking Volunteers for Nominating Committee

The PTA Board is seeking at least three PTA members to serve on the Nominating Committee, which will recruit the slate for the 2022-2023 PTA Board. The timeframe for the committee’s work is February/March. If you are interested in serving on this committee, please contact Melissa Adler, PTA President, at president@waysidepta.org.
