1. Kids In Need During the Holidays (KINDH)

Each year, the Wayside community generously supports Kids In Need During the Holidays (KINDH) with gifts and donations. This year, KINDH needs our help more than ever!  KINDH provides under-privileged children in our county with a memorable holiday by purchasing, wrapping, and delivering gifts. They also provide families with gift cards for their holiday meal.
Please look through this Signup Genius to choose how you will help a child or a family this year. As things are a little different this year, we ask that you do not wrap the presents; please put the recipient details on the gifts you donate. We request that you drop off gifts at the school December 14-16 between 9:30 a.m. and 2 p.m. Alternatively, please contact Linda Young at logowear@waysidepta.org to drop off gifts. You can also make a donation directly to KINDH.
Thank you, Wayside, for your generosity this holiday season!

2. Wayside Logowear Makes Great Holiday Gifts!

The Wayside PTA has developed an online store for logowear! Now is the perfect time to outfit your kids with some new, customized Wayside logowear. Pick your Wayside graphic on a variety of different products and colors. All orders $50 and over have free shipping. Additionally, there is always a monthly special coupon on specific products. Order today in the time for the holidays at https://waysidespiritwear.com. After the winter break, students will be able to submit pictures to Mrs. Rhoads with their Wayside gear for the Morning announcements. If you have any questions, please reach out to Linda at logowear@waysidepta.org.

3. Spirit Week is December 21-23!

Wayside’s next Spirit Week is coming December 21-23!

4. Save the Date for Wayside Spirit Night at Shake Shack – January 13

We’d like to thank all Wayside families for participating in our first spirit night at Gregorio’s Trattoria in November!  Our second Wayside spirit night will be at  Shake Shack in Cabin John Shopping Center on January 13. Orders will be made on the Shake Shack app, web, or kiosk. Stay tuned for more details closer to the date!

Not only is she a great artist, but she is very generous with her time to help us out. We also want to thank Mrs. Weinbaum and Mrs. Rhoads for their continued support to the Reflections program. Most importantly, thank you also to all the participants! They have done a beautiful job!

6. Mark Your Calendar: February Events

Mark your calendar for two events in February! Valentine’s Day class parties will take place on Friday, February 12. The PTA will provide a goodie bag with crafts and treats for each student. Bingo Night will be on Thursday, February 18. More information to come!

7. Families Helping Families Grocery Card Drive

During this holiday season, we encourage our generous Wayside community to donate to the Families Helping Families grocery card drive sponsored by MCCPTA, MCPS, and the MCPS Educational Foundation. COVID-19 has taken a heavy toll on many in our county, and the Families Helping Families program will provide direct assistance to MCPS families in need. You can make a gift by credit card, text, or check. Donate here.
